For the exhibition NIJVER|heden: Industrious Artefacts, the evolution of crafts we've been working on the signage and a booklet. The show runs from May 27th 2011 - February 12th 2012 at the Zuiderzee Museum in Enkhuizen. For the design the Scratched Letter from 2003 was revived. We constructed the main titles of the show from yarn on wood. Signage in the exhibition / yarn on wood picture taken from www.edhv.nl Booklet / laser print on paper For the booklet we made the digital letter into a working typeface with a lot of weights and alternates. For a client I trade endpaper designs for a stack of printed endpapers. I use the paper for correspondence or wrapping paper. Curious how this design will turn out in two colours + silver.
For the magazine Inspiration of warehouse Bijenkorf I was asked to make a typographic page on the theme of accent. To avoid the accent in a fashion way, I used a sentence which served as a speech exercise for pure Dutch by B. Faddegon (1874-1955) to get rid of a speech-accent.
In 2003 I graduated with the Scratched Letter. We are currently trying to revive the digitally drawn typeface in an analogue way with yarn to use for exhibition signage. Thanks to Nienke Kersten, who is my intern from KABK.
